72 Hour Packing List (Enhanced)
Here is AMR OEM's suggested 72-Hour Packing List. I have made some additions to it, based on multiple deployments over the past several years.
Duty boots
Sneakers to wear while "off-duty"
Shower Shoes / flip-flops (this is a must have)
Sunglasses (recommend polarized)
Climate appropriate clothing (clothing to wear around base camp, when not up for a mission)
Clean uniforms, 3 sets (I recommend 5 sets)
Rain gear (poncho or rainsuit)
Undergarments, including socks, 3 sets (I recommend 5 sets)
Personal medications (at least 30 day supply)
Aspirin, Tylenol, or Ibuprofen (also famotidine)
Flashlight (recommend LED)
Portable AM/FM radio with NOAA weather freq.
Cell phone (and/or tablet) with AC & DC charger
Portable GPS (or a mobile device that is GPS capable)
Drinking Water – 1 gal per person, per day minimum
Towels and washcloths (Recommend 2 of each)
Bedding (sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping pad, etc)
Toiletries / Sundries
Toilet paper (I recommend baby wipes for porta-johns)
Non-perishable food items for yourself
Spending money (ATM’s are often not working in disaster-affected areas)
Driver’s license
EMS Credentials
Company photo-ID badge
AMR/FEMA ID badge
Insect repellent & Suncreen
Large duffel to carry all this junk in
Hearing protection (ear plugs)
Hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial wipes
If you have a portable cot, hammock, or zero-gravity chair, you may want to consider bringing it if it fits in your rig
Work gloves
Swiss Army-style knife or multi-tool
Compass & whistle
12-hr. light sticks
Waterproof matches or comparable substitute
Water purification tablets or purification straw/device
